ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Hello in this post I’m going to talk about the experience with the English.

Okay, in this year I studied English because is an obligatory subject of the university. I will be honest, in the beginning I don’t really like studied English because I hate when the people force me to study something because I have always thought that if you want to study something you must be born on your own. Besides I’m a very shy person and that's why it's so hard for me to speak in front of people in a foreign language. But despite everything, I learn to overcome this situation and in this moment, when I go to the class, I enjoy with the subject.

About the blogs, is very entertaining to read the experience of my classmates and what they think about different points.

I think that I should improve my pronunciation, because in many situations I know I know how that word is said but my head prefers to say it badly hahaha. Beside I could improve the way that I express in front other people and try to overcome my shame. Maybe in the future I will practice English or take some course because It is very important to handle another language and especially that is English... in this moment I don’t have the time for practice besides I  just “practice” English outside the class when I hear music in this idiom, and I sing in the shower or I see movies/series in English and I tried to understand what the actor says.

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

I'm studying dentistry and in this moment in specific the second semester of the first year of dentistry. Well, I'm going to talk to the subjects that I have in the last time.

Okay in the first semester we had 5 subjects, I think about this one is a good start because it's so hard the change of the school to university but I disagree about the time of class, for example in Anatomy we had studied 3 hours continuous ( three classes) in the morning...Please this is not normal! No person is able to pay attention more than 45 minutes; this is the reason that many of my classmates fell asleep after the first class. This could improve because why it to go to is classes if you fall asleep or don't understand the subject?

In the second semester you can find subject more relation with the career, it's the moment when the students realize if this career is for them. We have subjects very difficult like “Destrezas” and “Bayb” but we have “infotecnology” this waste of time and even teachers do not give enough importance to the subject.

“Bayb” is the subject most difficult in this semester because the teachers mix biology, histology and anatomy of head and neck where we have to study 30 subjects for a test and like anatomy in the first semester we had 3 hours three times a week in the morning in the faculty od medicine because in our faculty we don’t have cadaveric preparation neither infrastructure.

About the infrastructure i think that we need a biggest library because in many occasion it’s not enough for all the students like the “salas de pasos”. 

Summer Holidays

Hello! In this opportunity I’m going to talk about these summer holidays.

Well, I think that in this summer I will go to the beach in Coquimbo. There is a good place to have a good time and in this last time I have save money with my boyfriend to go together, because we are very tired for the university and need a moment for the relax. Probably our friends meet us later because they also study at university and that's why we have not been able to hang out together.

Maybe in February I will go with my mom to Antofagasta, this place where my uncle lives with his family. I never went to this part of the north of our country but this is an opportunity for go to desert where you can find the “mano del desierto” and my uncle offered to take me to the “salar de Atacama”. Besides my brother talk me about the travel together, I hope come true because I really fan of my brother and love spend the time with him.

Only what I want for this summer is sleep and read a lot for recover the time that the university take me. In this last time I bought many books for to read in summer time jiji also I can read in anywhere but I prefer the parks like the “Parque Forestal” o “Parque Bicentenario” there are a good place to reads and disconnect from reality.

Hello in this blog I’m going to write about a series of book that I recommend you.

 Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is a pentalogy of books written by Rick Riordan.  These books are based on Greek mythology and tell the adventures of Percy Jackson and his friends fight against of the titan Kronos.

I will tell you about the first book, the lightning thief.  Well, Percy Jackson, the protagonist of these books, is a 12 years old boy, he been always expelled from the school because strange things often happened around him.  One day his algebra teacher transform into one of the three Furies of Greek myth and tried to kill him, when he arrives to his house the Percy’s mom knows it’s time to tell the truth and she send to Percy to Camp Half Blood a summer camp for demigods, in this place he discovers that is a son of Poseidon, god of the sea. Besides in this place make two friends, a satyr and a demigod daughter of Athenea, who will help him the recover the lightning of Zeus before a war between the gods is unleashed.

Yes, I know that is tangled plot but you need to read these books, you can enjoy with the humor of the characters, can learn about Greek mythology and not get bored in the attempt. I really like Percy Jackson books cause you can see how the characters grow and mature in differents ways because the first book percy is a 12 years but in the last book he is a 16 years old. Besides if you are a demigod obviously inherit your father's powers!!! He can generate earthquakes, control and create water. 

Rick Rioirdan is an amazing storyteller of Greek mythology and I hope you have the opportunity to read these pentalogy. 

Postgraduate Studies

Hello, in this post I am going to talk about the postgraduates studies that I am going to do in a future. 

I would like to do the specialty in pediatric dentistry because this course has a relation with the children and health. I have heard that this specialty is very difficult, because the little kids don’t like that a strangers insert in their mouth different instruments very intimidating, besides they don't have any idea about what is the oral cavity and the type of disease could have in the future.

But in this moment I would like study this major because the kids are the future of ours country and world, this is the reason that is important the prevention in this age about different diseases for have in the future a good health and help the people that haven’t information about this.

If I studied this major I would like it to be in this university, because the Universidad de Chile has to more standing about the other university. This is the reason that according to requirement of this specialty I am going to study 8 hours to the day from Monday to Friday.

Maybe in the future I am going to change this idea but in this moment I really like pediatric dentistry. 

My future job

Hello in this post i am going to talk about my future job. Well in this moment I am studying dentistry but in the future I want to work being dentistry in the differents parts of the public service from Chile with a indoor job. I really like to travel and work to around of the south of Chile, because I know in this part of our country they don’t have there are not many dentists because they most want to stay in santiago or in their own dental clinics. Besides I like to visit the other country for to know other points of view about the odontology.

The salary is variable, because it depends on where you are working and in the area in which you specialize, but I think the salary it is between 1300 and 2000 dollars. I just want to live comfortably and give my parents a good life, because because I want to give them back what they gave me.

When a I finish my major i really like to learn more about what I studied but I don’t know if i want to study after. There are many specialties in dentistry to study after, but in this moment... I just know that the Estefania of the future will make the right decision.

Favourite animal

Hello everyone! Today in this post I am going to talk about my favourite animal.

Okay, it’s very difficult just choose one of the animals of the world, but in this opportunity I will choose a Hedgehog in specific the European, because we can find more 15 different species of this animal.

This type of animal are so cute and very small like the size of a hand, the people usually have this animal as a pet but you can find them in native habitat because there are wild animals. They are recognized by their spines on their back, around 5000 spines, because is a way for defends of the other predator and they curl up into spiny ball cause they need protect their stomach. Besides they have a little eyes and very poor eyesight but excellent senses of smell and hearing.

They are omnivorous this means that their typical diet consist of insects and berries.

I like this animal because my cousin is a veterinarian and had many hedgehogs. He let me take these animals and taught me how to take care of them. I think that from that moment I started to take care of these little animals.

Hello! In this post I want to talk about my favourite movie.

Okay, I will be honest. My favourite film series It will always be Harry Potter, but in this post i want to talk about a movie that in this last time became my favourite and this is: TRAIN TO BUSAN.

First, I need to say that I have always liked the zombies, but usually the movies are very bad, with a bad plot, bad characters and fake zombies. But this movie came into my life and changed all this...

Train to busan it’s a movie of South Korean directed by Yeon Sang-ho. This movie is an action-suspence-thriller about the zombie apocalypse. The plot of this movie tells the story Seok-woo, a father who just lived with his daughter, Soo-ahn, but he doesn’t spend much time with her. In the day of the Soo-Ahn birthday, she asks to visit her mother  because her mother lives in Busan. In the next day, the board the KTX train, but during their journey a girl who is infected attacks a members and passenger of the train where they turning into zombies. In this moment Seok- Woo with Soo- An and the other passengers must now fight for their lives.

Maybe you think, “nah it’s another bad and pathetic movie of the living dead” BUT IT’S NOT LIKE THAT. This movie is very well made; the zombie’s looks VERY real and the plot of the movie made me afraid, suspicious and even made me cry!!!

The best holdays

Hello, in this blog I will talk about the best holidays I remember.

In summer of 2016 with a group of teachers and classmates of my school went to Salamanca, inside of Coquimbo region, for 12 days. We went to mission because I studied to Catholic school, and every summer we visited the houses of distant cities where the people don’t have the opportunity to hear the word of God.

In these days we visited a lot of houses, I heard the people talks about their problems and we gave him encouragement to continue. Besides we had small activities with the neighbors, adults and children, where we raised topics in the conversation. For example one day we told them to try to draw the road of their life and to tell us if God was there for them, I still remember that moment and everything the people said.  

I met a lot of people whit whom I talked about their life and God, this is the reason that I think that It marked me. I really felt that in this days I lived very good moments and will live in my memories.

This was my best holiday because I felt that I grew up like a person and come closer to God. 

A country I would like to visit

Hello, in this new post we going to talk about a country that I would like to visit.

In this opportunity I would really like to visit is London. There are many reasons why I decide this, one of these reason is because it is a country with a rich in history, architecture structures and attractions; for example the Buckingham Palace, also known as “The Queen’s House” because it is the residence of monarch of United Kingdom and a beautiful place for to visit.

 

The other reason is that in London we can explore new and historical attractions, like the  London eye, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey and Madame Tussauds, besides we found the greatest museums in the world. In this all places I would like visit and enjoy of this beautiful landscape.

 

The last reason, but not least that because in is the country were born the history of Harry Potter. I’m a fan of the world made for J.K Rowling, for this that I would like visit the Platform 9^3/4 at King’s Cross station in central London, where Harry  his adventure began, we can visit the Warner bros studio tour of the making of Harry Potter and many places in London for the Potterhead’s (people that are fan of Harry)

My Blogging Experience

In this time, the blogging experience has been of course a task for English but the same time this brought me different memories of when I wrote my post of the books that I read in that moment. I don't remember the reason that I leave this, but I was really happy when I wrote like when I wrote in this blog.

This experience was very interesting because we could express the different ways that we feel about the subject we are talking about. Besides We could developed the art of writing, this has not been an easy task because for many to write in Spanish can be easy but in English it is a personal challenge as since in my personal case this is not an easy job. Even so, I can say that I have progressed little by little in writing for express everything I think related to matter.

When I was beginning to write, as I said above, this brought beautiful memories about when I wrote many years ago and I think this is how "destiny" say me: "Is time that you should come back and resume this activity".

I think this activity has really been beneficial to every person that I had to write a blog, and I am very grateful to have had this opportunity.

When I read...

When I was a little girl, my brother gives me a book for that I could read in summer. This book calls “The Knight in Rusty Armor”, from that moment I discovered a world where I could learn with just words. Through this book I learned values that I did not know and that helped me to grow up, besides I could understand the different point of view of the persons.

That book was the beginning of many books I read, the different ways that I could travelled in the world. In a book I could stay in USA and at the other time I was enjoying a view of the River Thames, just I needed changing the page.

I really learn about the different cultures and history of the world, because I liked read about a world war and the history of my country. The book “Mira tu” tells us about every corner of our country; through you full of knowledge and also you already have ideas where to travel for summer.

The Subject I Enjoy

In this post I talk about the subject that I enjoy studying. I'm a student major of Dentistry in the Universidad de Chile, this is my first semester of this major. I really tried to do my best to have good grades, but in many times is really difficult the change from going to the school and after going to the university. 

In this time, the subject that I really enjoy is Destrezas y Autocuidado para el Desarrollo Profesional I, because this is the first contact that we have with the clinical practice considering that We need to practice the manual aspects, so that in the future it will become easier.

In this subject we study the different diseases and problems related to the oral cavity and the different ways to prevent them. Besides we have a practical class, where we can develop different techniques to work with our future patients. This are the principal reasons that I really like and enjoy with this subject, besides this subject motivates me to continue, despite the all stress which involves studying the careers of health.

Someone I admire in my field

The person who I think I admire is Rodrigo Hernandez; He is a dentist and teacher of the Universidad de Chile.  He is my teacher of the university in the subject of Anatomy in my first year like student. In this year I am very complicated with the new subjects that I have to study, almost Anatomy, but the all students and me are very tired and bored because the students could learn about the different parts of the body in 4 hours without stay sleep in this class and I have not good memory and in this subject is very important have this and I fell so impotent when I can remember all that I hear except with this teacher. Others teachers don’t have the same way of teach like the teacher Rodrigo, this is the principal reason that I thankful for teach very well and I can remember all that He say for the different ways that He teach.

Besides he is a person very friendly and kindly with the persons who around him because I could see this situation but I can’t talk very much with him.

The truth or to feel good?

During the course of our life, we have decided about to tell the truth or conceal this information since we were a child’s.

What is the truth? It's the act of telling the true, but what do I prefer?  

Is very complicated said always the truth, because the nature of the human is conceal this for shame or fear of the other person.

In my point of view, in many opportunities I don’t tell the truth because I thought that I can hurt the fillings of someone very important for me, but when I grow up I understand that It’s so important reveal the truth because I would not like that the persons who surround me don’t tell me the truth. In the area of health always we must be honest with the patient about your clinical information.

For example, in a situation in which my friend to tell one of my secret with other person, I prefer that my best friend tell me the truth in the face before that I find out about someone else.

There is a proverb that said: A liar is caught before a thief, because in my opinion the truth always comes up like the light in the darkness.

My dream job

In this post I will talk about of my dream job. This is having a bookstore where the people will can find the book that they look for and the same time I will recommend to the people other books that they might like.

I love all that have a relation with the books (above all its smell), that is the reason that I will like this kind of work, because I enjoy when the people reads books for have a moment of funny, for the work/study or just for forget this world.

I really like talks with other people about books, but above everything recommend book that will transform your life, because the books have this "super power", change your life with just words.

In this job I think that you don't travel a lot because you need worry about your bookstore and the new books that will be publish and bestsellers of the moment.

Besides technically, in this job you work in an office (indoor job) but you can manage your store in the same place where be located and go over the publish house for find the best book for your bookstore, and you don't need a study for have a store, just very money, attitude and love the books.

My future profession

My future profession is Dentistry. In my own opinion is health care career most important because is relevant the oral health for our life and the relation with the other people.

For example, the smile (teeth and gums) is the first impression that a persons takes about ourself and own self-care . This is one reason that a persons have to care about oral sthetic appearence.

The dentist is the responsible of that society have to a good oral health throught the prevention to don't get oral disease.

Most of the diseases in our bodies are related to the oral cavity. If our mouth (gums and teeth) are sick, our body will trigger multiple problems about our health. This is where the dentistry comes in who will be in charge of helping society to reverse these problems by being able to detect diseases in time.

My profession has a many oportunity where we can work in differents facets like pediatry, ortodoncy, etc. This kind of thing gets my profession turn special. The other reason is that dentistry is the one of the few profession where we can see each other close relation patient-dentist and I thinks is the most attracted of the dentistry because we can to get to bond of friendly and help.

My first concert

My first concert

I don't have many experience about of concerts, but I can talk about of the only opportunity when I went to one. 

This year on March I went to "Concierto Mechon" that it was organized for the university where I am studying. For this reason, I went with my friends of Dentistry and the rest of my companions to the Recoleta stadium where the concert was. The price of ticket for the concert was so cheap for the "mechones", who are the people that admit in the first year of our university.

Well, in the concert we can heard different groups like Alex Anwanter, "La Moral Distraida" and "Santaferia", these last, played cumbia. With my group of friend and me didn't know these bands of cumbia but We really have fun moment dancing and trying sing their songs. 

These bands are Chilean musician  and the audience of the concert was really crazier dancing their songs, because they are very famous. The concert finish early, but I can say that my first concert was the best occasion for spend my time with my friends dancing and singing.

English 3 season 1 

Hello! My name is Estefanía Elizabeth Ximena Moreno Pino (yes, it is a long name), but just call me Estefa. I was born on July 30, 1998 in Santiago, Chile. In my childhood I grew up with my parents and my brother, They gave me a lot of love that I can give to the others. I went to high school at the "San Gregorio of the Salle". Currently I go to the University of Chile and got a Odontology. 

In my free time (that I don't have in this moments) read books of the fantasy and romantics,I love read because I think that It can take you to other wonderworld without you leave your world. Definitely, My favourite books is "Harry Potter".

I am the youngest of two childrens, Is the reason that my brother to care for me like to father. He is my favourite person in the universe and I feel so proud of him achievement in his life.
